(More customer reviews)Typically when you order cat 5 cableing there are connectors already on it up untill you hit about 100 feet, After that they assume that you are setting up a network and are going to attach the wire to plug boxes. As for what this cable was intended for it works like every other network cable and is a pretty average price for cable in my area at about .16 cents a foot. So if you want to run a in line network in a normal house or small business then this should be sufficent for several computers when cut.

Wanted to connect my modem to my new D-Link Ethernet switch, (that sit side by side) and the shortest cable I had was 6ft. Saw this 1ft cable, for next to nothing, ordered it and it was here in a soft pack in my mailbox in seven days. Total cost $3.03. I'll take that.
FYI, I read some complaints about it not being actually one foot in length, so I measured, it is 10 inches, not including the plugs.
If you want a close connect ethernet cable, this is your boy.

The cable gets daily use and works well. I'm not sure what else there is to say about a cable - especially one you don't recall purchasing. However, I can say it's still black, still works, and I'd purchase it again (since it apparently was a separate purchase). Six feet is not very long - but it works well for components placed close together.

This is NOT a Cat5E rated cable. This cable typically comes with a routers or cable modems. Contains 4 network wires equaling 2 pair.Standerd network cables contain 4 pair of wires, yet only use 2 pair. Ultra Low Loss Cable is designed to transmit the maximum signal to your antennas. 1/2 inch LMR-400 cable meets Military Specifications with silver foil and silver coated copper conductors for less signal loss in runs up to 200 feet.. In this high quality cable, the dimensions and spacing of the conductors are uniform. Any abrupt change in the spacing of the two conductors along the cable tends to reflect radio frequency power back toward the source, causing a condition called standing waves, reducing the amount and quality of the transmitted power. I have to buy more cables before I can use the router I purchased at the same time from Amazon.com. Between shipping problems and misleading photography, I don't believe I'll be purchasing anything but books from Amazon.com from now on. At least with books I know what I'm getting.
Cat5E 7' gray are under $5 at Sam's Club.
