(More customer reviews)This is a very good switch for the price. My home network set up is a Linksys BEFCMU10 cable modem, a Linksys WRT54G wireless router, and this Zonet ZFS3018P switch. This Zonet switch integrated perfectly with my Linksys products.
To set the switch up just plug it in, and run a Cat 5 or Cat 6 cable from your router to one of the ports on the switch. I used the number 8 port. That leaves 7 additional ports on the switch to tie into your network. I also have 3 additional ports still available on my Linksys router.
Once this is done, you are good to go. Just plug your additional computers or game systems into the switch, and have fun. That is why I purchased it. My son likes to have XBOX 360 parties at the house with his friends, so I recently wired my home with Cat6 cable to give him more LAN connections.
The only thing I don't like is the short power cord. It is only about 3 feet long. There are more expensive switches on the market. I am a fan of Linksys products. Linksys has an 8 port switch that sells for $40 - $50. Online, I paid $14.99 for this Zonet switch and it does what I need it to do. Also, Zonet has a 72 month warranty on this switch.
If you are looking for an inexpensive switch to run more equipment on your network, then this is the switch for you. I don't think you will be disappointed.
One final note. I contacted Zonet before I bought this switch. If you look online you may see a Zonet ZFS3008 or ZFS3008P switch. They are discontinued. This ZFS3018P replaces them.
