(More customer reviews)This is a review of the Micra Digital Cat5e snag-less Patch Cable; Black (10 Feet). It is a decent network cable. Bottom line is that it works just as well as my other Cat5e cables.
The Micra Digital cable is an excellent value, especially compared to name-brand cables offered on Amazon. From my testing, the quality is the same, but the cost is a lot less. Aside from the function as a networking cable, I like the snagless boot (factory terminated) ends. The RJ45 connector clips have a boot that acts as a snag-free cover so you can pull the cable through the tangled mess of other wires and cables, and it will not snag (and break off!). Also, the PVC shielding has decent flexibility so that you can coil the cables without too much effort.
The Cat5e will support gigabit Ethernet. You do not need Cat6 for gigabit, and you certainly do not need to pay for the premium since Cat5e is sufficient.
Of course, you can go even cheaper by getting opting out of the "snag-less" feature. Amazon Basics also features a similar snag-less for less, which I also recommend.
The one thing I am not sure about is the warranty. Belkin, for example, typically offers a lifetime warranty on their network cable products. Even Amazon Basics offers a one-year limited warranty. I do not know what is offered for these cables. If this is not an issue for you, then I will say it is a great item.
Overall, this is a very good Cat5e network cable. Highly recommended.
